Even my TA has noticed and commented on the difference some of the practices have made. It has been nice to be able to implement changes that did not totally disrupt or change our routines.I so appreciate the lenses to look through in order to see the WHOLE child. In this day of test scores and assessments, I feel the reality that we are dealing with living human beings and more importantly developing children gets lost. I have noticed myself being calmer, more relaxed, and more aware. This has made a positive impact on the class as a whole, and me personally. -Jennifer
This course has made me realize that I have the potential to be a great teacher, and that inside me are the tools I need - I just need to focus my "inner ninja" on these tools and use them effectively. I also realize that taking a step back from a situation and assessing it is a good thing and I don't need to answer everything immediately. I now know that my instincts can be trusted and I have to stand my ground when it comes to the welfare of my students because I spend more time with them than anyone and I see little changes that others may not notice and I need to go with my observations. Thank you for a fantastic 4 weeks. -Katie
This course fasciliated me to think about myself and how I approach children in my class from a different perspective. I'm striving for a deeper and more meaningful insight with my teaching. It has been a genuine soul changing experience. I know I have further to go, more to learn but does that really ever stop with a teacher? Thank you Sally for being generous with your time, knowledge, passions and experiences, - Michelle R.
This was the most in-depth discussion on behavior management from the standpoint of truly taking the time to understand a young child's needs and feelings. I have been in many trainings and courses that discussed "positive guidance", but this was the first one I have ever had the chance to take which truly gave practical advice I could use. Thank you for taking the time to create a class like this. - Michelle L.
I have enjoyed sharing this information with my assistant who found it extremely interesting. We have both started looking at the ways in which I children in the classroom fit into one of the four brain categories and which element they seem to fit into. I am definitely looking forward to future classes. Thanks Sally. -Theresa
I really enjoyed all of the brain material and what it meant. It made me think about all of the 4 year olds I have in my class and has really helped me try to understand where they are. I have been able to talk to their parents a little more about the brain and they actually understood what I was saying. -Tami
You have given me much insight. I love how over and over you talked about how to calm yourself (and gave tips) and how to take time for yourself and you would be a more effective teacher. That is so true! I need to internalize and visualize those words and make them happen. So many times as teachers (and wives and mothers) we throw ourselves into everything and don't take 5 minutes to help ourselves and then we get worn out (physically and mentally). You have made me realize how important it is to make time for myself. I love how you gave tips to help me with my high strung child. Thank you for all of the insight! -Cheryl
